While the premium flagship devices do showcase a brands manufacturing and innovating prowess, it’s the mid-rangers as well as the budget devices that often lead the sales numbers. Witnessing the rising demand for capable mid-ranger and lower-end devices, Samsung has confirmed that it would be launching its all-new A series devices in India and other global markets on 25th March. While the Korean smartphone maker has shied away from sharing any other details about the launch just yet, here is what the phones are expected to bring to the table.
A 37 and A 57 specifications
Going by the leaked details, both the A 37 as well as the A 57 could feature a flat 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The upcoming A 37 could be powered by the Samsung Exynos 1480 processor with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM.
The A 57 mid-ranger could run on the Exynos 1680 chip with 8 GB of RAM. The two phones are expected to come with support of 128 GB and 256 GB of internal storage; beyond that, they will also support memory extension via microSD cards.
Software updates
Just like the all-new Galaxy S 26 lineup, the A series is tipped to be running on the latest One UI 8.5, with a promise of 7 years of OS updates and security patches. It’s possible that both the phones might be equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W charging support. The two devices are expected to feature identical cameras with a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12 MP wide-angle lens, and a 5 MP macro lens. The front cameras on the phones could be a 12 MP shooter for selfies.
Price expectations
As revealed by Android Headlines, the prices of the A 37 and the A 57 could ascend 16 to 20% higher than their predecessors due to the memory chip shortage. This could take the Galaxy A 37 to a starting price of around 439 euros, which is approximately Rs 47,000, and 539 euros for the A 57, which comes to approximately Rs 57,300. Before these leaks, an update from Android Headlines had revealed that the A 37 and A 57 would be launched with Charcoal, Awesome Gray green, Awesome Lavender, and Awesome White color variants. The Navy color would not be available in all variants.
The Galaxy A 57 will also have Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0, compared to Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, which will be on offer by the Galaxy A 37.
