Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone the Galaxy S4, which is its biggest launch of the year, is facing some serious Wifi issues. According to a report on ZDNet, the company confirmed that the users of the Galaxy S4 were facing problems on staying connected with Wi-Fi networks on D-Link model routers. “This is a problem caused by firmware stored on a specific access point in D-Link routers. Customers should update their firmware to the latest version or reboot the access point,” a Samsung spokeswoman told the website. Meanwhile users had take to websites and Android forums to complain about the issue. According to jim1745 who posted on Androidcentral forums about the problem… t_he signal will terminate after about 1 minute or so and I would have to manually go into my phone settings and shut down Wi-Fi, open it again to establish connection again. but like before it will only hold for a min or so before it freezes yet again._ [caption id=“attachment_791517” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Samsung Galaxy S4 in this file photo. I had the same problem, repeated on two different GS4 phones today. I tried everything possible to figure out what was wrong but couldn’t fix the problem. The phones would connect to my wireless router, but would send and receive data only intermittently. Sometimes, resetting the router, or pulling the phone’s battery, or going into airplane mode would be the only ways to get the phone to actually send and receive data, but it would only fork for 20 seconds - 3 minutes. Every other wireless device and wired device works on this router, except for the GS4. And the GS4s both worked in-store on their wireless network. My guess is that it’s a hardware or software compatibility issue with certain routers. Oh and mobile data worked like a charm.
