Reddit was down for thousands of users on Thursday (November 21), according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, a day after the social media company said it had fixed a bug following a recent software update.
Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from several sources including users, showed more than 50,000 reports of outages.
The website was up and running again around 11:10 am ET (9:40 pm IST).
The cause for the second outage was not revealed.
Earlier, on Wednesday (November 20) at around 4:10 pm ET (2:40 am Thursday, IST), Reddit had seen an outage that spanned several countries.
After saying that it was investigating the issue, Reddit implemented a fix for a software bug. The bug had prevented tens of thousands of people from accessing the social media platform, according to Reddit.
The company did not share about what the bug might have been or how it was affecting the social media platform’s servers.
Reddit, which has almost 100 million daily users, had even posted a meme about the outage!

On the whole, the share price of the company did not respond negatively to the outages.
Late last month, Reddit announced that it had a profit of nearly $30 million for the third quarter, while its revenue was $348.4 million.
