[caption id=“attachment_247573” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] YU Yureka is Micromax’s first-ever Cyanogen OS based phone which was launched in India earlier this month[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247572” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] The bundled package is quite simple comprising a headset, a 2500mAh battery, 1A power adapter and data cable. The packaging is also quite spartan[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247574” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] Micromax YU Yureka runs on Cyanogen ’s CM11 OS on top of Android 4.4.4, which allows you to customise the phone to your liking[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247580” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] Micromax YU Yureka sports a 5.5-inch 1280x720 pixel IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 system on chip which has a 1.5GHz Quad-core Cortex A53 and 1GHz quad-core Cortex A53 CPUs[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247571” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] On the top edge of the phone you have the earpiece speaker, a front-facing camera and the 3.5mm audio jack[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247575” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] At the base you have a microUSB port beside which you have the microphone[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247578” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] The settings menu seen on the YU Yureka, as you’ll notice the icons are slightly modified as compared to what you see on stock Android devices. It houses 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory. You can expand it by adding up to 32GB microSD card[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247577” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] The display can get quite bright. The apps are arranged in a 4x6 grid, but this is completely dependent on what theme you have chosen. As can be seen, the 5.5-inch display means that one handed operation will not always be convenient[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247576” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] There is a visible circle on the base bezel. It easily reminds one of the home menu button on Android Lollipop OS. Beside the home soft button, you have the back and the multi-tasking soft buttons on either side. They are backlit when active. On the connectivity front it supports 2G/3G/4G LTE and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247579” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] On the rear cover, Micromax has tried to ape OnePlus One’s Sandstone cover and failed. The texture on the YU is more like a hard sponge than the soft sand-paper type texture you have on the OnePlus. The plastic cover is removable[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247584” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] On the right hand side you have the power/standby button[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247583” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] The YU branding is prominently displayed on the rear side, just below the camera[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247585” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] Micromax YU Yureka sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera. It has the exact same user interface as the one we saw with OnePlus One[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_247582” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] It supports 1080p video recording, along with a variety of other resolutions[/caption]
