[caption id=“attachment_291637” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] ![Image1](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Image1.jpg) A look at the latest Mi Pad 2, and there is no denying it has taken some design cues from Apple’s iPad. With a 7.9-inch display, it weights only 322 grams and is sleek at 6.95mm.[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_291639” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] ![Image3](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Image31.jpg) Compared to its predecessor, the Mi Pad looks quite refined and classy by giving plastic a miss and opting for metal. The metallic finish oozes a sophisticated look, which the Mi Pad earlier lacked.[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_291640” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] ![Image4](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Image41.jpg) The Mi Pad has an impressive vibrant display with good colour reproduction. The 7.9-inch display gets 2048 x 1536 pixels of resolution. The company has gone with an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and coupled with 2GB RAM. It is available in 16GB and 64GB variants. We got our hands on the 16GB model, out of which 8.35GB was available.[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_291638” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] ![Image2](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Image21.jpg) It comes with an 8MP rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing camera. Take a look at the image we tried taking with the camera. Unlike most tablet makers that don’t pay a lot of attention to the camera, Xiaomi has put in some thought, we must add.[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_291642” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] ![Image6](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Image61.jpg) The MIUI ran smoothly for the limited time we used it. Yes, we got to spend some time with the model running MIUI 7.1, but the company also has a Windows 10 model. The image shows some shortcuts to read mode, screenshot, sync, lock and so on.[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_291641” align=“aligncenter” width=“1280”] ![Image5](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Image51.jpg) It doesn’t support 4G and one has to settle down with a Wi-Fi-only model. A 6190 mAh battery fuels the device.[/caption]
