[caption id=“attachment_3880211” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  Jeep India has finally launched the 2017 Jeep Compass in India[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880213” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  Bookings for the vehicle started a month ago[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880215” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  Jeep has invested $280 million at the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles facility at Ranjangaon near Pune[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880217” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The Compass is the company’s first locally manufactured product in India[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880219” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The diesel model of the Jeep Compass Sport will make use of a 2.0-litre unit that makes 173PS and 350Nm[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880221” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The Compass Limited trim will also be available which comes with a choice of both petrol and diesel engines[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880223” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The Compass Longitude, however, will only get the 2.0-litre diesel engine[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880225” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The top-of-the-line Compass Limited 4x4 priced at Rs 20.65 lakh[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880227” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  Jeep’s Active Drive 4x4 System has a rear axle disconnect that seamlessly switches between two and four-wheel drive to help increase efficiency[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880229” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The Compass Limited 4x4 will have Jeep’s Active Drive 4x4 System[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880233” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The Compass packs in upto 50 safety and security features[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880237” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The Jeep Compass which was unveiled back in April [/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880239” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The SUV is available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880241” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  Interested buyers can either head to an FCA showroom or a Jeep-exclusive showroom[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880243” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The SUV features a brand new design compared to the old model[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880247” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The Compass Sport will have only a six-speed manual transmission[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880249” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The SUV offers a multitude of drive options with features like Jeep Active Drive, Selec Terrain Traction management system and more[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880251” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The four variants are Sport, Longitude, Limited and Limited[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880253” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  The petrol and diesel engines are both BS-IV compliant and can be scaled up to meet BS-VI as well[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_3880255” align=“alignnone” width=“940”]  Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director, FCA India said, “We are already receiving overwhelming response to our new SUV.
