Nokia launches cheaper 301 and 105 devices

Nokia has unveiled two new devices, the Nokia 301 and the Nokia 105 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona - this is in addition to the launch of two cheaper Lumia phones, aimed at consumers in China and India.

Nokia launches cheaper 301 and 105 devices

Nokia has unveiled two new devices, the Nokia 301 and the Nokia 105 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona - this is in addition to the launch of two cheaper Lumia phones, aimed at consumers in China and India. “In every aspect, the Nokia 301 is a higher-performance mobile phone with distinctively Nokia touches like beautiful design and vibrant color,” said Timo Toikkanen, executive vice president, Mobile Phones, Nokia. “The Nokia 301 is an instant classic: it builds on Nokia’s heritage by combining well-loved features with smarter capabilities in one appealing and affordable device.” The 301 supports 3.5G Internet speeds and has smart camera. It has a 2.4-inch screen and a keypad. It also comes with a 3.2MP camera that will let users editing and sharing options photos. Some of the camera options are: • Panorama – for wide-angle shots, including group photos and landscapes. • Sequential shots – capture five frames in a row with just one click, then choose the best of the series. • Self-portrait – for perfectly-centred self-portraits, even without a front-facing camera. The built-in voice prompt guides the user to ensure they are in the frame before taking the shot. • The 5-in-1 camera app lets users choose and apply one of five camera effects to an image. Nokia 301 comes with Slam, which allows users to transfer content such as images or contact cards to an adjacent Bluetooth-enabled phone in just a few simple clicks. It also has the Nokia Xpress Browser built-in. The phone will allow users to access apps like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc, while a lite version of Mail for Exchange allows people to check work email and sync their calendars and contacts as well. Users can switch SIM cards without turning off the phone, It comes with Talk time of up to 20 hours and is available colours: cyan, yellow, magenta, black and white. It should be available in India by Q2 2013. Nokia 105 is being touted as one of the cheapest Nokia handsets. The device will come in cyan or black and has a colour screen. This is the successor to Nokia 1280, which sold more than 100 million units in its lifetime. The Nokia 105 is basic feature phone with FM radio, a speaking clock and flashlight. It has a dust- and splash-proof keymat and a month battery life. It has 1.45-inch true colour screen with a user-friendly interface, and comes with Nokia Life service in India for tips on education and health, as well as entertainment topics. It has talk time: up to 12.5 hours.
