Nokia all set to launch Lumia 1020 today with 41-megapixel camera

Nokia is hosting a special event in New York today where it will launch a new smartphone. The company has been promoting the event with the hashtag ZoomReinvented.  So what is Nokia likely to launch at this event? The rumoured device is the Lumia 1020 which is likely to come with a 41-megapixel camera, hence Nokia’s emphasis on Zoom. The device will run Windows 8 platform. Previously Nokia had launched the Nokia PureView 808 with a 41-megapixel camera but it ran on Nokia’s ancient Symbian OS. The feature allows the phone to be used with a gloves on etc. A report on WPCentral also said that the smartphone would have 2GB and 32GB of internal storage space. No MicroSD slot for expansion of space has been spotted. [embedalsosee] The camera will be a 41-megapixel PureView with optical image stabilization, has a backside-illuminated sensor and an Xenon flash and can record in 1080p at 30fps.
