Zynga's Running with Friends launches globally for iOS devices

Runner games are the newest fad, and Zynga has joined the group with its latest game Running with Friends. Zynga has launched the game globally for iOS users only. 

The game requires the runner to dodge charging bulls, speeding cars, flying barrels and other obstacles in his way to score on the streets of Pamplona, Spain. Runners can jump off ramps and higher than buildings, and even ride on the back of the bulls to win some welcome bonuses. Fun bit here is that the players get to compete with their friends – and compete they do to stay at the top of the leaderboard. They can even explore some cool locations while they run. The game is compatible with iOS devices like the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.

In a short span, this genre of mobile gaming has become so popular that you are sure to find a friend, a colleague or a fellow passenger feverishly sliding their fingers on their smartphone screens to end up with a higher score. Playing these games require the runner to combine quick reflexes and a level of finger dexterity and control, especially if you’re playing them on a tablet. While being simple, the games get highly entertaining.
