Zync to launch 5 tablets priced under Rs 15,000

Zync will be launching five new tablets this month under the Rs 15,000 price bracket. The company will unveil five dual-core and quad-core tablets in the 7-inch, 8-inch, 9.7-inch and 10.1-inch screen size categories, with the price of all the products below Rs 15,000. While the company hasn’t provided any names or detailed the specifications, it has revealed some of the features the tablets will have.

The 8-inch and 10.1-inch tablets will be some of the first Indian quad-core tablets to hit the market. Some of the tablets will equip a screen similar to that of the Apple iPad 3, meaning that they will have a high ppi screen comparable to that of Retina displays. The tablets will be powered by a 1.6GHz processor and will have 32GB of in-built memory. The tablets will also be equipped with two cameras.

Ashish Garg, Director of Zync Global, said, “All these five tablets which will be launched at the end of this month will have a unique USP which no other player has in the market in terms of features and price. Zync is bullish on the tablet market and the price range of these tablets with the latest features is going to sweep people off their feet.”

Back in January, Zync launched keyboards for its 9.7-inch Android tablets. Priced at Rs 1,990, the QWERTY keyboard promises ease of prolonged usage and comes with one-click function keys for home, search and menu. In addition, it has also been fitted with multimedia function keys such as play/pause, next, previous and volume up/down. The Zync keyboard has been embedded with soft-touch keys with a thin form factor, along with usual indicators for Caps, Num and Scroll lock.

The keyboard has two USB ports, which means on connecting to the tablet, one will get two extra USB ports. These can be used to connect a mouse and flash drive. Other features include a free stylus for resistive screens, a USB connector, an adjustable clamp, a kick-back stand for using the tablet as a mini-laptop, and a protective leather cover for easy storage and portability.

Zync’s previous 9.7-inch tablet, the Z1000, features a 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, HD Display, 3G, Bluetooth and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Some other affordable 9.7-inch Android tablet options in the market include iBall’s dual-core Slide i9702 and Mercury’s mTab Rio. The iBall Slide i9702 features a quad-core G400 Mali graphics processor and 1GB DDR3 RAM, dual camera and runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. On the other hand, the Mercury mTab Rio comes with a 1.2GHz processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM, support for Wi-Fi and runs on Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
