While we are waiting for OnePlus to launch its new flagship for 2017, another Chinese company has announced a monster. ZTE's subsidiary brand Nubia, announced its flagship smartphone, the Z17.
The Z-series from the company has seen some promising models, but this one just tops everything else. The smartphone features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and 8 GB of RAM along with 128 GB storage. Now that's some serious power.
It also features a dual-camera setup at the back features a 23 MP and 12 MP combo. The primary camera system offers 2x optical zoom and up to 10x dynamic zoom which sounds similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. The front camera on the other hand offers a 16 MP resolution with an f/2.0 aperture and an 80-degree wide angle lens. The display is a 5.5-inch 1080p edge-to-edge panel similar to the Galaxy S8 only with the curves.
The company has really loaded up the smartphone as you get a Dolby Atmos speaker, an IR blaster to use the nubia Z17 as a remote control, IP67 certification making it withstand 1 meter of water. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Nubia UI 5.0 and according to the company, the NeoPower 3.0 feature makes the 3,200 mAh battery stay up for to two days of usage with one single charge. It does that by suspending background processes. The smartphone also features Qualcomm’s all new Quick Charge 4.0 which is claimed to charge the smartphone from 0 to 50 percent in just 25 minutes.
As for the color options, the Z17 will be available in black and gold, black, gold, red, and blue.
