Zopo Mobile today launched its new flagship smartphone the Speed 8 in India claiming it to be the world’s first deca-core smartphone since the handset was first unveiled at MWC 2016 back in February. The Zopo Speed 8 is a successor to last year’s Speed 7 is powered by a Helio X20 64-bit CPU with ten cores. There is 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage . On the front there is a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080) IPS Symmetrical display with an 8MP selfie camera. The back features a fingerprint scanner and 21MP camera with a Sony IMX230 sensor with a dual-LED flash. The company has also used a USB Type-C port, which is slowly becoming the preferred choice for smartphone makers. Other features include a 3,600mAh battery, stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow, NFC, 4G LTE and dual-SIM card slots. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 29,999 and will go on sale today on online as well as offline channels. Announcing the launch at a press conference, Kevin Xu, Founder Zopo brand, commented, “The smartphone market in India is going through a cut-throat competition of sorts and relevance and technology innovation dictates what is here to stay. There is no place for ‘me toos’ in the market. Keeping today’s smart, discerning and technology savvy millennial in mind, we design our smartphones and make sure they are at par with contemporary trends and at the same time, they are futuristic as well. India is a strategic market for us and we are in India, for India. With this overriding commitment at our core, we launched the sophisticated Zopo Speed 8 here.”
The handset is powered by a Helio X20 64-bit CPU with ten cores, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
