Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division, India, has announced the launch date of its Xbox 360 exclusive cricket game, ‘Yuvraj Singh International Cricket 2007’ and its availability to Indian gamers from March 27, 2007 at Rs. 1,699.
Mohit Anand, country manager, Entertainment and devices division, Microsoft India said, “With our soon-to-be launched cricket game, Yuvraj Singh Cricket 2007, we aim to provide cricket fans a unique opportunity to play their favorite game from the comfort of their home. The game is focused on World Cup 2007, hence, the gamers will have a real life experience of playing with and against the teams of their choice, on the Xbox 360.”
The game is being developed by Codemasters, who are associated with the ICC and have the rights to develop cricket games with names and faces of real players and the actual teams selected to play in the ICC World cup 2007 series.
When asked how Yuvraj Singh Cricket 2007 is different from the other Cricket games, developed by Codemasters, he said that this game is built around the Indian context. While, users may choose to play on behalf of any team in the World Cup Series, the ’training mode’ of the game is focused on the Indian team.
Anand also revealed that the Microsoft is working on more games in the Indian context, such as a car racing game on familiar roads of Delhi and Mumbai and other games involving actor Akshay Kumar, one of the two brand ambassadors of Xbox 360 in India.
