Motorola Moto E second gen – Rs 6,999  The Motorola Moto E second gen is an improvement over the original, in terms of design, battery life and features offered. It makes for a great option for those looking for a 4G device running stock Android and promises timely OS updates. The 4G variant comes powered by 64 bit Snapdragon 410, and most of the other specs remain same as the 3G variant. It sports a 4.5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, and runs the latest Android Lollipop flavour. It also includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB onboard storage space. The distinguishing features are 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage as compared to the Lenovo A6000’s 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage. These minor yet significant changes will make you spend mere Rs 500 more compared to the A6000 priced at Rs 6,999. In terms of specs, it looks pretty solid. The device sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. The dual-SIM device runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with the company’s own Vibe 2.0 skin on top. Asus Zenfone 4 – Rs 4,999  The Asus Zenfone 4 is yet another great pick for those looking for a smartphone as low as Rs 5000. Unlike the others in the list, this one comes with a low-resolution display and underperforming processor, but at that price point, it is one of the best options available for those on a shoe string budget. Though we haven’t reviewed the device, it appears to be pretty solid on paper and a good contender in the sub-Rs 7,000 range. The USP of the device is its 8-megapixel rear and front-facing cameras. It comes powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. The list of specs also includes 16GB onboard storage, 4G support, 5-inch HD IPS display and 2500mAh battery. It is available in black, white and golden colour options. Huawei Honor Holly – Rs 6,999  Huawei’s Honor Holly falls under the same price bracket and is yet another great option for users. With a 5-inch HD display, the smartphone comes with 3G support and dual SIM option.
