Yuphoria, Redmi 2 and others: 7 best smartphones under Rs 7,000

Gone are the days when low budget smartphones barely came with any features. These days, it is the most exciting segment with manufacturers rushing to offer devices that promise ‘value for money’. If you are on a sub-Rs 7,000 phone budget then you still have several options out there to suit your needs. We’ve listed seven best smartphones that fall under the Rs 7,000 price bracket to look forward to. Micromax YU Yuphoria – Rs 6,999 ![Yuphoria1 (2)](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Yuphoria1-2.jpg) A mix of superior specs at an alluring price tag makes the Yu Yuphoria one of the best options in the sub-Rs 7,000 phone segment. At the price point, Yuphoria’s design manages to stand out from competition. Features such as a metallic frame, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 4G, dual SIM, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Cyanogen OS, 8MP camera give it a good value proposition. It does have its fair share of software flaws, but they can be resolved with timely updates in the future. Read our complete **Yuphoria review** , to know more about the device. Xiaomi Redmi 2 – Rs 5,999 [caption id=“attachment_248128” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![xiaomi redmi 2](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/xiaomi-redmi-2.jpg) A major improvement over its predecessor[/caption] Xiaomi Redmi 2’s major improvement over its predecessor is the addition of the dual SIM 4G slots, higher capacity battery and a new user interface. The device got a Rs 1000 price drop recently and is now available in open sale, pushing it a notch higher when it comes to ‘value for money’. Moreover, the open sale means it is easy to procure. “Redmi 2 certainly has an edge over the other competitors and is definitely a good option for first time buyers,” says Nimish Sawant in the **Redmi 2 review** . Read the complete review, to know how it fares. Motorola Moto E second gen – Rs 6,999 ![Moto E](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Moto-E.png) The Motorola Moto E second gen is an improvement over the original, in terms of design, battery life and features offered. It makes for a great option for those looking for a 4G device running stock Android and promises timely OS updates. The 4G variant comes powered by 64 bit Snapdragon 410, and most of the other specs remain same as the 3G variant. It sports a 4.5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, and runs the latest Android Lollipop flavour. It also includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB onboard storage space. In terms of camera, it gets a 5MP rear snapper along with an auto focus sensor and includes features like geo-tagging, panorama, and HDR. We’ve reviewed the 3G version of the device, read the complete **Moto E second gen review here** .  Lenovo A6000 Plus – Rs 7,449 ![lenovoA6000Plus](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/lenovoA6000Plus.jpg) The Lenovo A6000 Plus is almost identical to the A6000 but with a few minor tweaks in terms of specifications. The distinguishing features are 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage as compared to the Lenovo A6000’s 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage. These minor yet significant changes will make you spend mere Rs 500 more compared to the A6000 priced at Rs 6,999. In terms of specs, it looks pretty solid. The device sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. The dual-SIM device runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with the company’s own Vibe 2.0 skin on top. The smartphone sports an 8MP rear autofocus camera with LED flash along with a 2MP front-facing camera. Asus Zenfone 4 – Rs 4,999 ![asus_zenfone_4](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/asus_zenfone_4.jpg) The Asus Zenfone 4 is yet another great pick for those looking for a smartphone as low as Rs 5000. Unlike the others in the list, this one comes with a low-resolution display and underperforming processor, but at that price point, it is one of the best options available for those on a shoe string budget. We found the design and the build quality to be one of the best we’ve seen on a budget phone, it’s simple to use and basic functions run smoothly. It also lets you boost the storage with the SD card slot. Read our complete **Zenfone 4 review** to know more. InFocus M350 – Rs 6,999 ![infocus_m350](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/infocus_m350.jpg) The next option in our list is the InFocus M350. Though we haven’t reviewed the device, it appears to be pretty solid on paper and a good contender in the sub-Rs 7,000 range. The USP of the device is its 8-megapixel rear and front-facing cameras. It comes powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. The list of specs also includes 16GB onboard storage, 4G support, 5-inch HD IPS display and 2500mAh battery. It is available in black, white and golden colour options. Huawei Honor Holly – Rs 6,999 ![huawei_honor_holly](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/huawei_honor_holly.jpg) Huawei’s Honor Holly falls under the same price bracket and is yet another great option for users. With a 5-inch HD display, the smartphone comes with 3G support and dual SIM option. The specs sheet also includes 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 13-megapixel rear snapper, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and 2000mAh battery. Check out the complete specs sheet **here** .
