YouTube updates Shows page for Indian TV viewers

The Indian television industry is among the largest in the world and YouTube has a piece of that pie. The video streaming service says that television viewers usually have two questions; when can they watch TV and what should they watch. With a vast number of Indian content providers, like Sony Entertainment Television, Colours and Star India having a solid presence on YouTube, the question of when to watch TV has been answered for the most part (whenever you want!). However, YouTube also features more than 19,000 episodes of over 300 shows in six different Indian languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, and Punjabi) and are now making an attempt to make it easier for users to find the content they want to watch.

YouTube has updated their Shows page, www.youtube.com/shows , to help users find the shows that they like and discover new ones. For shows from the rest of the world, users can visit www.youtube.com/shows/other-languages . On the Shows page, users will find programs across multiple genres, like Drama and Comedy. The latest and top watched episodes will also be featured on the page. If a user has missed an episode of their favourite show, it will be waiting for them in the channel. YouTube says that 19,000+ episodes is just a start. They say, “We hope we can keep delivering more and more content that viewers across India—and around the world—want to see.”

Paddy does not, we repeat, definitely does NOT belong in the category of Mac-head (yeh right!). She does get excited by her iPhone and her iMac and her iPod Nano and her Macbook and Bali's iPad and her future iHouse (patent pending). Ok, so maybe her head is a little bit forbidden fruit shaped. She likes shooting video (iPhone 4 camera zindabad!) and editing montages (Final Cut Pro zindabad!), whether the scene calls for it or no. In her spare time, she's either kicking it on stage with KB the keyboard or kicking butt at Taekwondo.
