It’s that time of the year again! YouTube has released its Rewind video to pay its respects for all the videos that have topped the viral charts this year. From Miley Cyrus’ twerking and ball wrecking to Daft Punk getting lucky and more, YouTube’s mashed them all up into a five minute video to celebrate the end of the year.
YouTube managed to bring together some 60 of the top creators on the video sharing website to create a tribute video for 2013. The video includes remixes of some of the most heard music on YouTube this year, including Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, Psy’s post-Gangnam Style Performance on Gentleman and Ylvis’ The Fox. In fact, the video is called “What does 2013 say?” to pay homage to the hit “What does the Fox say?”

Of course, the video contains some hilarious reenactments of videos put out by users in the year, including Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball, the runaway trend of Harlem Shake and more. Starring in the video are some familiar names who’ve made it big on YouTube– MysteryGuitarMan, Epic Rap Battles of History, Annoying Orange, Jamie Oliver, Jimmy Kimmel, PewDiePie and a lot more.
As far as YouTube in India goes, the service has released a list of some of the top trending videos this year. This time, Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3 trailers have taken the top spot, pushing everything else to lower positions. Following these are videos like The Viva by Sabarish Kandregula, an episode of Comedy Nights with Kapil, a NatGeo video of a Jaguar attacking a crocodile. There’s also a compilation video of the top 10 catches in Cricket history, an episode of Roadies and viral veterans The Viral Fever Videos’ hilarious dubbing of Gangs of Wasseypur called Gangs of Social Media.
YouTube also has a list of the top trending music videos in India this year. It’s a mixed bag as Ramaiya Vastavaiya’s Jeene Laga Hoon is followed by Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop. Runaway hit of the year Aashiqui 2’s songs follow suit and last year’s merit ranker Yo! Yo! Honey Singh also creeps into the list with Blue Eyes.
Globally, Ylvis’ What does the fox say is followed by a version of the Harlem Shake as the top trending video globally. As far as music videos go, pretty much no one can beat Psy at it as Gentleman comes out tops with Miley Cyrus giving back to back hits with Wrecking Ball and We Can’t Stop.

There are a bunch of Cricket and Sachin related videos with a dash of Bollywood, cooking and emotional videos thrown it. A nice touch by YouTube.
