The YouTube Capture app for iOS devices, which lets iPhone and iPod touch users record, enhance, and share videos on the popular video-viewing site, has been updated. The Capture app now supports YouTube accounts with multiple channels, allowing creators to post their videos directly to channels. Other improvements to the app include the ability to better upload videos on devices running iOS 5, and some general improvements.
Upload videos to multiple channels
The YouTube Capture app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Users will require devices running iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimised for iPhone 5. The app was launched for iOS devices in December last year.
The app, which lets users upload videos to YouTube, Facebook, Google+, and Twitter simultaneously, is said to have a very easy interface. The app is ready to record as soon as it is launched. Once a user is done filming the video, they can write a caption, select the audience they want to share it with and then hit Share. Users can leave the app and switch to some other task on their phones and the app will continue the upload in the background. At the time of the launch, Reed Morse, Software Engineer at YouTube, said that the newly launched app is the search giant’s attempt at speeding up recording, enhancing and sharing videos for users to share with their friends or the whole world.
