As far as in-car entertainment is concerned, the next-big-thing is Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It’ll be a few years before we see mainstream adoption of these platforms as they haven’t really reached critical mass yet. There aren’t many cars available with either Android Auto or Apple Car Play, but if you’re lucky enough to own a Hyundai car with a specific infotainment package, you might just be able to update to Android Auto on your own. The update is available to 2015-2017 models of certain Hyundai cars, including the Sonata, Santa Fe, Elantra GT and Tuscan. Other cars will receive the updates soon. To check if your model is eligible, you’ll need to log into the My Hyundai site. Hyundai provides an app on Android to guide you through the installation process. If the instructions are too much for you, you can, of course, take the car to a dealer and get them to install Android Auto for you. The app includes a manual, but more interestingly, will also offer an augmented reality view of your engine as well. It’s nice to see that Hyundai at least gives you the option to upgrade the car yourself.
