As we come to the end of 2015, Facebook is out with its Year in Review. It gives an overview of the year and a look at what moved and inspired people throughout 2015.

As we come to the end of 2015, Facebook is out with its Year in Review . It gives an overview of the year and a look at what moved and inspired people throughout 2015.

Facebook has pushed out Year in Review top 10 lists that were measured by how frequently a topic was mentioned in Facebook posts made between January and December 2015. Facebook posts were analysed in an aggregated, anonymised way, and then ranked to create a snapshot of the year on Facebook.

Starting with what people on Facebook were busy talking about, Betsy Cameron, Data Analyst and Brittany Darwell, Editor write that US Presidential Election was the most talked about global topic. It was followed by Paris attacks, Syrian civil war and refugee crisis and Nepal earthquake. Among the list of top 10 most talked about topics globally, war against ISIS takes the seventh spot and the Charlie Hebdo Attack comes on the eighth spot.

Facebook has also put out India-specific lists about the most talked about topics, places and new sticker packs. Needless to say, Indian PM Narendra Modi was the most discussed topic on Facebook followed by E-commerce boom, A.P.J Abdul Kalam and the movie Baahubali. Bollywood celebrities Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone also make it to top 10 list on the sixth and ninth spot respectively. Cricket World Cup and IPL, Bihar Elections and Indian Army were the other topics in the list.

Among places in India, India Gate, Taj Mahal and Marine Drive take the top three positions, in that order. Nandi Hills, Qutub Minar, Ramoji Film city and Golden Temple Amritsar were among the other places that are counted among the most discussed places on Facebook.

New stickers packs in India has a list that includes Biscuit in Love, Minions, Boo and Buddy and Angry Birds, among others.

PM Modi has also made it to the list of most discussed politicians globally. While US President Barack Obama gets the top spot, PM Modi comes ninth in the global list. Donald trump takes the second spot, Dilma Rousseff is third and Hillary Clinton on the fourth position.

When it comes to the global list for entertainers, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Kanye West make it to the top three spots. The list has Pitbull and Shakira at the seventh and tenth spot respectively.

Game of Thrones was the most discussed TV show online, followed by The Walking Dead and The Daily Show. WWE Raw, The Simpsons and Grey’s Anatomy also make it to the list, among others.
