After giving its iOS app a fresh new look, Yahoo! is updating the Weather application for Android as well. The revamped application for Android will sport the same beautifully designed interface as the much-appreciated iOS one.
The new application will sport images from Flickr accounts of the city you’re currently in. By default, the application will zero in down closest to the location you are in to show you the weather and other details of the area. You can even choose to see weather on the city level rather than the area level by tweaking your preferences.
Beautiful design comes to Android
The updated application will not just show you the weather and temperature right now, but also the forecast for the next 10 days and hour-by-hour predictions. Additionally, the app will also show you chance of precipitation, wind and pressure, moon phases, UV patterns, as well as sunrise and sunset times.
The revamped application is sure to gain many users thanks to its minimalistic, white-upon-background font usage. The application takes beautiful Flickr pictures for the area and puts it under this clean layer of information for best effect. It’s no wonder that the application’s iOS counterpart has been getting rave reviews as well as a design award by Apple itself at the WWDC this year.
The application also has a personalised map and a widget for your lockscreen in tow to make it more accessible. The update to Yahoo! Weather is starting to roll out the world over today and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
