Big changes are afoot at Yahoo! The web giant has been going on purchase sprees, picking up smaller companies to bolster its own products. Yahoo! has announced today that it is giving a facelift to seven of its websites in order to give users a consistent experience across its services.
The company’s websites Yahoo! Sports, Yahoo! Movies, Yahoo! Music, Yahoo! TV, Yahoo! omg!, Yahoo Games and Yahoo! Weather are all sporting a brand new look that is consistent with their mobile versions too.
The Weather website sports the same look as the iOS and Android app
The redesigned has borrowed heavily from Yahoo’s revamp of its Weather product. The newly designed Weather app has been gaining rave reviews from all quarters and features a simple font impressed over an ever changing, bright background. These new website redesigns will also feature a non-cluttered look over a background image. The working of the websites has not changed too much so as to keep the usage consistent with how users know it to be.
Yahoo! Weather has also been reimagined onto the web and is in the same vein as the iOS and Android app designs. These new designs will be rolling out in the US over the next few days, followed by a global roll our soon after.
Other websites too borrow heavily from Yahoo! Weather’s look
The websites revamp coincide with Yahoo’s decision to come up with a brand new logo for its service. Yahoo! will be putting out new logo designs for a whole month at the end of which the service will be revealing its new logo. This new look of Yahoo! will have elements like the colour purple and the exclamation mark constant.
