In the present market, most smartphone manufacturers are quickly jumping on the Android 4.3 OS bandwagon. In an attempt to keep up with the competition, Xolo has finally pushed out the Android 4.1.2 update for its Intel Atom-powered X1000. The update can be accessed over-the-air and a notification will automatically appear on the X1000 smartphone, according to AndroidOS.
The update takes the current OS, which is at Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, to Jelly Bean and reportedly brings a host of improvements. These include support from Google Now as well as access to several applications only seen on devices powered by Android 4.1 or higher.
There is no official changelog available about the update, but we can expect new features such as better notifications, Project Butter improvements and UI enhancements. The update, bearing the number 1110.003A01, is 208MB in size, so it is advisable to download the same over a Wi-Fi network.
Xolo has now rolled out the Android 4.1.2 OTA update for the X1000
Xolo was earlier reported rolling out an OTA update for its Q700 smartphone, with a file size of 371MB, according to the source. The update mainly focused on bug fixes and performance improvements. The same update for the Q700 can be downloaded manually from the company website.
A quick recap of the Xolo X1000 shows that the smartphone comes with a 2GHz single-core Intel Atom processor. Additionally, the phone comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be up upgraded to 32GB via an SD card slot. The smartphone comes with an 8 megapixel primary camera as well as a 1.3 megapixel front shooter. The phone was launched in India for Rs 19,999.
While Xolo is a newcomer in the market, it should be noted that there are many other phone manufacturers in the market offering phones sporting a higher OS in that price range. Thus, it is hoped that the company will work on improving the software and after-sales support for its handsets.
