Xolo launches 5-inch Q1000 smartphone for Rs 14,999

Xolo has expanded on its Q-series line-up with a new handset. Dubbed the Q1000, the smartphone has been launched and is available for Rs 14,999. Despite sporting a 5-inch display, Xolo claims that the smartphone has been designed for use with one hand because it measures 70.8mm wide and has a thickness of 8.8mm. The handset is a GSM+GSM dual-SIM phone.

As mentioned earlier, the Q1000 is equipped with a 5-inch display with an IPS panel. The display has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, giving it a pixel density of 293 ppi. The display has DragonTrail Glass, which is said to be resistant to breaking and scratches.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, so the interface should be smooth thanks to Project Butter, and the handset won’t be lacking in any of Android’s features, such as Google Now. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor and 1GB RAM. The processor and RAM allow the phone to easily handle 1080p HD video playback.

On the back of the Q1000 is an 8 megapixel camera with a BSI sensor, which gives better pictures than other sensors because it increases the amount of light captured by the lens. The front has a 1.2 megapixel camera. The handset has a dedicated camera key that not only acts as a shutter button, but also acts as a shortcut for the camera app.

All of this is kept alive by a 2,100 mAh battery, which has a quoted music playback time of 21 hours. It also has 4GB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB through a microSD card slot.
