Xolo Black launched at Rs 12,999 in India; sports 5.5 display, dual rear cameras

Xolo today launched the first device under its online sub brand ‘Black’ called the Xolo Black. The device is priced at Rs 12,999 and will go on sale on Flipkart on Monday, July 13. However, existing Xolo customers can get the smartphone a day early between 4PM on Sunday, but will need to register.

Xolo today launched the first smartphone under its online sub brand ‘Black’ called the Xolo Black. The device is priced at Rs 12,999 and will go on sale on Flipkart on Monday, July 13. However, existing Xolo customers can get the smartphone a day early between 4PM on Sunday, but will need to register.

Alongside, Xolo has tied up with Vodafone to provide a bundled SIM offer with 1GB of free data a month for two months, and unlimited Vodafone music for two months. Users can also get their hands on the smartphone before their purchase at 100 Vodafone flagship stores across the country.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution with a pixel density of 403ppi. It also uses Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 615 processor featuring an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 405 GPU and includes a 2GB RAM. The smartphone also has an internal storage at 16GB and can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The dual-SIM Xolo Black runs on Android Lollipop based on the Hive Atlas OS. It comes equipped with a dual camera set up with 13MP and 2MP cameras on board. The 2MP camera is used to change the focal point of an image along with a 5MP front facing camera.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone includes 4G LTE connectivity, supporting both FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) and TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz); Micro-USB v2.0 with USB OTG functionality; A-GPS; Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It is backed by a 3200 mAh battery.
