Chinese electronics and smartphone giant Xiaomi recently announced that the successor to its
Mi Mix 2
smartphone, the Mi Mix 2s and its launch date of 27 March 2018. The company also mentioned that the device will be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. Now a report has emerged that the 845 SoC used in the
Mi Mix 2S
may actually be faster than the one used in the recently launched Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus
,
Asus ZenFone 5Z
, and
Sony Xperia XZ2
. [caption id=“attachment_4322311” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Mi Mix 2s. Slashleak.com[/caption] The video teaser put out by Xiaomi on its Weibo
page
showed Snapdragon 845 flashing on the screen, followed by a message ‘How fast is your Snapdragon 845?’. This coupled with the fact that Xiaomi recently revealed what appears to be the
AnTuTu
score of the device, shows that the Mi Mix 2S could stand on its own against other flagships in the year 2018. As
reported previously
, the device is expected to feature a 5.99-inch FHD+ display in an 18:9 aspect ratio and possibly, an 8 GB RAM along with 256 GB storage option. Going by the trend set by Apple, the Mi Mix 2S is also expected to incorporate a notch on the display. Unlike Apple, however, this notch will likely appear on the top-right of the display, making it possibly less of an intrusion. Come 27 March, we will know for sure.
