The Mi Electric Scooter has been announced on Xiaomi's MIJIA crowdfunding platform in China.

A couple of days back we saw a teaser coming from Xiaomi that was speculated to be an electric vehicle. The teaser clearly said that it won't be a car so the most obvious thing was a bike. Well that's exactly what the company announced. The Mi Electric Scooter has been announced on Xiaomi's MIJIA crowdfunding platform in China.

It is made out of aircraft grade aluminium alloy and is portable thanks to its foldable design. Having a top speed of 25 kmph it features an LG 1850 EV-lithium ion battery with a battery capacity of 280Wh. Other features include E-ABS anti-lock braking system present at the front wheel while the double disc braking system ensures proper braking. The best feature on the Mi Electric Scooter is that it can be folded by just pressing a button and it takes just three seconds to fold.

According to the company it can be connected with the rider's smartphone via Bluetooth to track their speed, battery life, battery health and more. It also comes with a Kinetic Energy Recovery System that converts kinetic energy to electrical energy charge the battery. Weighing at just 12.5kg it is easy to carry around.

Available in white and black colour variants the new foldable electric scooter is priced CNY 1999 (Rs. 19,500 approx) and will be available from December 15 in China. Don't expect the bike to arrive in India as the company ususally restricts such products to its hometown.
