Xiaomi's dual-camera Mi Note 2 may launch next week at a price of around Rs 29,800 in China

A lot has already been said and written about Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2, and if the latest leak is to be believed than the device finally gets a launch date. Now, the screenshot below from a Weibo user, spotted by AndroidPure claims that the device is all set to be launched on 14 September, which is no later than next week. [caption id=“attachment_333357” align=“aligncenter” width=“588”]  Image: AndroidPure[/caption] Along with the launch date, the leak also gives a sneak peek into some of the device’s specifications, such as the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, 5.7-inch display, 13MP dual camera, etc. It also shows a price that reads 2,999 yuan, which translates to approximately Rs 29,800. However, that’s not the only leak about the release. Another leak, of what looks like an official promo, shows 9.24 at the lower end of the page. It is speculated to be the date — 24 September — for the launch of the device. This could also mean that that the company plans to announce the device on 14 September and release it for users on 24 September. In either case, the device could launch this month. According to previously  leaked information the upcoming Mi Note 2 is likely to come in at least three variants, with at least one standard version featuring a 1080p display and one high-end version with a 2K curved display, in two storage configurations of 64GB or 128GB. Previous rumours have also been hinting at specs such as a 12MP dual rear camera, 6GB RAM, and 4,000 mAh battery. The lower-priced variant is expected to have 4GB RAM and a 16MP camera.
