Xiaomi unveils Mi TV 3S AI TV and a new home theater system in China

Xiaomi has unveiled Mi TV 3S AI TV in a Xiaomi event in China at 4,999 CNY a smaller version of Mi TV 3S and a home theatre system priced at 3,499 and 5,999 CNY respectively.

Xiaomi Mi TV 3S is a 65-inch Ultra Smart TV equipped with LG IPS 4K display panel and HDR support. The television provides a resolution of 3840x2160 with the panel with Wide colour gamut covering 85 percent NTSC colour gamut. The TV will come with a brushed aluminium back finish.

The TV is powered by a 4-core 64-bit Amlogic T966 flagship processor in addition to the fifth quality engine to improve the image quality and clarity. Also, TV 3S is equipped with Dolby and DTS hardware-level decoding while encased in a 9.9mm thin aluminium body with an anodised finish and embossed double 45-degree diamond cut.

The TV can access a rich ecosystem with around 27,000 movies for entertainment with a massive content library powered by Yicai, Iqiyi, Youku and Tencent in China. Xiaomi Mi TV 3S will be the first ‘Ultra Smart TV’ to be equipped with Mi Brain, an AI-powered assistant that will learn from the user’s interest and recommend best movies according to the interests.

Xiaomi also unveiled Lei Shi KTV, a wireless microphone with digital transmission and low distortion for Karaoke support. The wireless microphone is highly sensitive while minimising noise interference and distortion. They will be priced at 599 CNY, translating to Rs 6,000 approx at the time of writing.

Also, Mi TV 3S will be the first Smart TV to sport an AI-powered system, Patchwall puzzle system. The TV will have its independent sound system with four standard built-in speaker systems. The TV will be priced at 4,999 CNY which translates to Rs 50,000 approx at the time of writing.

Xiaomi also announced 65-inch Home theatre edition of Mi TV 3S. The home theatre comes with a newly designed subwoofer, rear surround speakers with 2.25-inch full-range. The company claims that the subwoofer and rear surround speakers will provide “smooth audio with clear high to deep bass” by offering a frequency range of 30Hz to 22KHz. The rear surround speakers come with wireless speaker setup to connect using 5GHz Wi-Fi technology. Apart from the accessories to turn Mi TV 3S into a home theatre, all other specifications are similar to the Mi TV 3S AI TV.

Xiaomi also unveiled a smaller version of Mi TV 3S during the event priced at 3,499 CNY translating to Rs 35,000 approx with all the specs of Mi TV 3S AI TV except the reduced size to 55-inch screen size.
