Xiaomi India Vice President and Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain tweeted on 8 August about the launch of the first dual-camera Xiaomi smartphone in India. He tweeted "Can’t wait for you guys to check out Xiaomi’s first dual-camera phone in India! Coming next month!” Can you guess which one?”. Jain also added a picture of himself with shallow depth of field to go with the tweet to kick up the hype.
The tweet does not disclose the model of the phone. However, as Xiaomi has only two dual-camera models with the third one on its way. The phone can be either the Mi 5X, Mi 6 or the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Note 3. One thing to note here is that the company has not launched its Flagship in the Indian market in the current year. According to the Indian Express, Xiaomi confirmed that it will be sticking to its strategy of launching only one flagship phone in Indian market each year.
This would mean that the model most likely to be launched would be the Mi 6 or the Mi Note 3. However, we can only be certain when September arrives and Xiaomi announces the dual-camera phone they intend to bring to the Indian market.

In terms of specifications, Xiaomi Mi 6 comes packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, four-sided curved 3D glass and 6 GB RAM. The Mi 6 also comes with a dual-camera array which packs a wide-angle camera module with 12MP image resolution along with a telephoto camera module with 12MP image resolution to provide the ideal amount of details and depth-of-field in the final images.
On the other hand the upcoming Mi Note 3 is also expected to pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 6 GB RAM. The device is expected to sport a QHD Super AMOLED panel made by Samsung.
Xiaomi India has not confirmed anything so we could also be looking at the launch of Xiaomi Mi 5X in place of the Mi 6 or Mi Note 3. The Mi 5X will be powered by 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 along with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It will pack a 5.5-inch full HD display with a full metal unibody design. The interesting thing to note here is that this smartphone will come with a dual camera setup on the back of the smartphone. The dual camera setup with a 12 MP wide angle lens and a 12 MP telephoto lens is similar to the setup used in the Xiaomi Mi 6.
