Xiaomi teaser hints at a probable launch today

Update: Xiaomi’s announcement for today was not the Redmi Note 2 nor the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro but rather,  a **price cut of Rs 2000 for the Redmi Note 4G** , which is now available at Rs 7,999. Xiaomi had taken to its social media pages yesterday and hinted to reveal something ‘jaw-dropping’ today on June 30 for fans. As the post states that it’s ’note-worthy’, we should expect the launch of the Redmi Note 2 in India. But then, Xiaomi also has other Note products, namely the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro  which come with high end specifications. On the other hand, going by its current obsession of dropping prices, Xiaomi may also offer a price drop for the existing Redmi Note. But there is no confirmation on the same. The company also added that they will make the announcement today at 10AM on its official social media pages. https://twitter.com/MiIndiaOfficial/status/615429688828137473/photo/1 Xiaomi has not made any formal announcement for a launch event today, but, on the other hand, the company could possibly surprise us as well. Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun had confirmed the launch of an upcoming Note smartphone on  Weibo along with a screenshot of the purported smartphone’s home screen too. According to rumours, the only things known about the alleged Redmi Note 2 is that it has 5.5-inch full HD display, dual-SIM configuration and comes with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. On the OS front it is expected to sport Android 5.0 or Android 5.1 with MIUI 6 skin atop it.
