Xiaomi strengthens its service infrastructure in India, launches its 500th service centre in the country

Strengthening its after sales services in the country, **Xiaomi** recently opened its 500th service centre in the country. The company claims to have doubled the number of service centres from 225 at the beginning of the year, within six months. The list includes a mixture of partner-run exclusive service centres as well as multi-brand service centers across 350 cities, including smaller (tier 3 and tier 4) ones. Xiaomi also **recently** opened its first Mi Home store in Bengaluru, a city where it had opened its first service centre. Announcing the service centre announcement, PCMag reported that the Chinese smartphone-maker also shared an IMRB (a multi-country research consultancy firm) report, stating that 75 percent of the country’s customers are of the opinion that Xiaomi provides the best after sales service. The report also states that around 93 percent of the company’s customers prefer Xiaomi because of its good service. Android Authority states in a report that Xiaomi’s service centres now manage a 95 percent rate of repairing smartphones within a day and an 86 percent rate of repair for repairs within four hours. Adding to the service infrastructure, the company has also set up two call centres which handle traffic of close to 16,000 calls a day. The report also tells us that the company has three repair factories where 100 engineers repair around 500 PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) units a day. “500 is another milestone for us in our India journey which is a proof point of our dedication towards after sales experience. Today, we have a strong service infrastructure and we want to be known as the benchmark for service delivery in India,” said Xiaomi Managing Director and Vice President, **Manu Jain** , speaking at the company’s milestone opening.
