Xiaomi is all set to launch its first fitness band, called the **Xiaomi Mi Band** , on August 18th. The Mi Band was announced at the Mi 4 launch event. It will be priced at $13 (CNY 79) or approximately Rs 789. Considering most of the fitness bands selling currently in the market such as Sony SmartBand SWR10 costing upwards of Rs 5,000, the Xiaomi Mi Band will be the first sub-Rs 1000 fitness band around. At this price point, the Xiaomi could take the reach of wearable tech to a new level, in case it is launched as a standalone device that works with other devices too.
