Chinese tech giant Xiaomi launched its flagship smartphone the Mi 5 and Mi 5 Pro in early 2016. It also announced a few other high-end devices like the Mi 5s, Mi 5s Pro , Mi Note 2 and not to forget the Mi Mix . While Indian consumers only got the Mi 5 as a high-end option from the vendor, hopefully the coming year will see some more flagship devices. A recent rumour suggests that the Mi 6 is already in works and will come in three processor variants. Expect three variants by the name of Mi 6S, Mi 6E and Mi 6P. The different alphabet along with the Mi 6 moniker represents the chipset it is loaded with. The letter ‘S’ stands for Snapdragon, while the letter ‘E’ stands for MediaTek’s Helio SoC for some reason, and the letter ‘P’ is supposed to represent Xiaomi’s own, rumored Pinecone SoC. It’s peculiar that why the 6E represents the Helio processor, it’s even possible that the letter ‘E’ represent ‘Exynos’ and not MediaTek’s offering. There isn’t a lot more info around the design but it is possible that Xiaomi will go with metal and glass once again or even a full metal design. The Mi 6 will should run on Android 7.0 or 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 OS on top, considering it is already being tested . We are also keeping a 6GB RAM variant in the picture since it is slowly becoming a standard in flagship smartphones. Of course these are unconfirmed speculation so better take this with a pinch of salt.
