Xiaomi’s own Redmi Note lineup has earned accolades for its unbeatable combination of price and performance. The recently announced Note 4 has already made its presence felt and now, we’re seeing a new addition to the lineup.

Called the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, the device is expected to launch in China today, with an international variant to follow soon after.

A leaked image of the phone has started doing the rounds ahead of the phone’s launch. It appears that the phone will be available in a green and black variant. We will admit, the green looks rather nice.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Externally, the phone appears to be the same as the previous Note 4. Rather than replace it, however, the Note 4X is expected to simply be a more powerful, slightly more expensive variant of the device.

In terms of hardware, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 653 chipset internationally and a MediaTek Helio X20 in China (the same as on the Chinese Note 4). The current international edition of the Note 4 uses the Snapdragon 625 chip, which is slightly less powerful than the 653, but more power efficient.

Storage options will now include variants with 3GB RAM / 32GB storage, 4GB RAM / 32GB storage and 4GB RAM / 64GB storage. Unlike the Note 4, there will be no 2GB RAM variant. The rest of the hardware remains the same as on the Note 4.

As we mentioned in our review of the Redmi Note 4 is already a great device at a great price.
