Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X gets TENAA certification, hints at increased RAM and storage

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X was recently in the news pointing that the company is planning to launch a Snapdragon version of the budget smartphone. Today we are hearing that the smartphone has officially got the TENAA certification in China. The listing for TENAA shows the image of the smartphone which looks similar to the Redmi Note 4. It also points to increased RAM and storage of the device. This means that we could see a 4GB RAM variant arriving in 32GB as well as 64GB storage options. Rest of the specifications on the listing seems to be similar to the Redmi Note 4, a 5.5 full HD display, a Mediatek Helio X20 deca-core processor along with 2 GB, 3 GB, 4 GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP front camera, a 4100 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner. A previous leak suggested that Redmi 4X could feature a new Snapdragon 653 SoC which is a minor update to the Snapdragon 652 offering a faster X9 LTE modem, a higher clock speed of 1.95GHz (up from 1.8GHz), and support for dual-cameras and up to 8GB RAM. We have our hopes high on the Snapdragon version as the smartphone is expected to launch soon in India, and Xiaomi usually launches Qualcomm chipset equipped smartphones for the country. Of course, we could be wrong and see the MediaTek equipped Redmi Note 4X with the high-end storage and RAM variant launch in January for Indian consumers.
