Xiaomi's Redmi Note 2 that kept popping its head now and then is finally official. Successor to the popular Redmi Note, the specs seem to be in line with the rumour mill.
The all-new Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It is powered by MediaTek's latest MT6795 Helio X10 SoC, octa-core Cortex A53 clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM.
On the camera front, expect a 13-megapixel rear snapper and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device runs the company's newest MIUI 7 that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The device is now lighter than its predecessor at 160 grams and measures 152mm x 76mm x 8.25mm. It is fuelled by a 3,020 mAh battery.
The dual-SIM handset supports 4G and comes with 16GB storage onboard. Besides, the company also has 32GB variant that is named Redmi Note 2 Prime.
The 16GB version will be made available in two variants – 4G on both SIMs and 4G-3G combination – priced at 899 Yuan (approx. Rs 9,200) and 799 Yuan (approx. Rs 8,200) respectively. The 32GB variant is priced at 999 Yuan (approx Rs 10,200).
