Image: Xiaomi[/caption] While the availability of adequate stock being a complaint from most of its prospective buyers, Xiaomi reaffirmed through a tweet that it has more than 4 lakh units of the Redmi 5 up for the first sale.
The Redmi 5 will be available in all three RAM variants — 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB RAM with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage options respectively. Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4A and Mi TV 4 will also be up for grabs in a separate flash sale at the same time. As far as specifications go, the metal-bodied Redmi 5 comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display. It runs on a Snapdragon 450 SoC and features a 12 MP rear camera with single LED flash. The 5 MP front camera on the Redmi 5 comes with a ‘soft-light’ module. Power is drawn from a 3,300 mAh battery. The 2 GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5 is priced at Rs 7,999, the 3 GB RAM variant at Rs 8,999 and the 4 GB RAM version at Rs 10,999. Connectivity option on the smartphone includes Bluetooth 4.2, Bluetooth HID, 4G dual SIM with a hybrid SIM tray that accommodates nano-SIM + micro-SIM or micro-SIM + micro SD card. This ‘Made In India’ smartphone will be available in four colour variants including gold, Lake blue, black and Rose gold. Xiaomi is offering a transparent ultra-slim case with the smartphone and it also comes with a cashback offer of Rs 2,000 on a Reliance Jio connection.
