The new variants have approximately the same specs as the Redmi 3 with the fingerprint sensor being a noteworthy update. The TMI report reveals that the listing mentions that both Xiaomi 2015817 and Xiaomi 2015810 feature a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1280x720 pixel resolution. They feature a 1.5GHz octa core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. As far as the battery is concerned, the Xiaomi 2015817 has a 3000mAh battery while the Xiaomi 2015810 has a 4000mAh one. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Connectivity options include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS and micro USB port. Sharing the camera details, the report adds that the devices hold a 13MP rear camera and 5MP at the front. Both the devices offer 16GB internal storage and 32GB expandable storage via a micro SD card.

Last month, Xiaomi had officially launched its Redmi 3 smartphone at a price of CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000). The smartphone offers a metal body along with a textured rear panel in gold, grey and silver colour variants.

On the specifications front, the smartphone features a 5-inch display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, paired with 2GB RAM. It sports an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 runs on an unspecified Android version with MIUI 7.

The device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera and an LED flash along with a 5MP front facing camera. The selfie camera also supports full-HD recording. The dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts a Micro-SIM and a Nano-SIM and also includes connectivity features such as Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, GPRS/EDGE, Micro-USB, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

One of the major highlights of the smartphone is its 4100mAh non removable battery. With a battery density of 685Wh/L, which extends the talk time of its predecessor by reportedly 80 percent, the Redmi 3 comes with support for 5V/2A fast charging as well.
