Xiaomi has unveiled a new variant of the Redmi 3, called the Redmi 3 Pro in China. The device is priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs 9,000) and will have it's first flash sale on April 6 in China as well. It will be available in gold, grey and silver colour variants. The smartphone was announced alongside the new home appliances under Mi Ecosystem sub-brand.
In terms of specifications, the device features a 5-inch HD display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor paired with 3GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. It includes an internal storage of 32GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner as well.
The dual SIM device runs MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash, f/ 2.0 aperture, PDAF autofocus and 1080p full-HD video recording along with a 5MP front-facing camera which supports full-HD recording as well. Connectivity features include 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, GPRS/ EDGE, microUSB and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. A 4100mAh non-removable battery completes the package. It measures 139.3x69.6x8.5mm and weighs 144 grams.
