Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Redmi Note may join Mi 3 in India on July 15

Xiaomi made a grand entry into the Indian market with the  **Mi3** , and now news has it that the company will soon launch new devices. A teaser post on its  Facebook page reveals the Mi 3 alongside two other devices showing a question mark. The post shows a curtain in the background and reads, “More announcements coming on July 15.”   The post also says bundle of surprises with Mi. This means, there is more in the offing from Xiaomi to be unveiled early next week. It is highly speculated that the two new devices could possibly be the Redmi or Redmi 1S and Redmi Note. Xiaomi’s  Singapore Facebook page also reads, “5,000 sets  Redmi Note and 5,000 sets  Redmi 1S on sale on 15 July, hinting that the same devices could enter the Indian market too. Just like Mi 3, both devices are already available in some other markets.   Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S sports a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display. It comes powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. On the storage front, one can expect 16GB onboard storage and a microSD card slot that further expands it up to 64GB. It is fuelled by a 2000mAh battery and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Xiaomi’s MIUI layer on top. One can also expect an 8MP rear shooter and a 1.6MP front camera.   Xiaomi Redmi Note is a large 5.5-inch phablet with 720p IPS display. The Redmi Note is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor and 1.7GB RAM. Some other specs include 8GB onboard storage, microSD card slot up to 32GB, 3MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter for selfies and 3100mAh battery. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Xiaomi’s MIUI layer on top. There is the possibility that Xiaomi would upgrade it for both devices to run KitKat based UI.   The Xiaomi Singapore post reveals that the Redmi Note is priced at S$199 (approximately Rs 11,900) and Redmi 1s at $169 that amounts to approximately Rs 10,100. The company recently launched the Mi 3 in India at a competitive price of Rs 14,999. So, we can expect the other two devices to follow a similar aggressive pricing scheme.   Read our  **Xiaomi Mi 3 specs review** , to know more about the device.
