The Xiaomi Mi Max 2, launched last month went on sale today at 10 AM on online as well as offline stores in the country as part of a weekly sale. The Mi Max 2 in on sale across e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall and Tata Cliq.
The newly launched phone is priced at Rs 16,900 on Amazon and Rs 16,999 on Xiaomi's Mi.com. Flipkart, on the other hand, has also priced the phone at Rs 16,999 but has added exchange offers which let you get the phone for as low as Rs 1,499. While this may seem like a steal, the only phone which offers the maximum discount is the Google Pixel.
Other phones from major brands are available for exchange as well though the deals are just not tempting enough. Surprisingly, even the Apple iPhone 7 retailing for Rs 48,999 for the 32 GB base variant fails to make the cut for the best discount on offer.
In terms of specifications, Mi Max 2 sports a huge 6.44-inch display now also houses a large 5,300 mAh battery. The full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display on the Mi Max 2 features a curved glass screen and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with an Adreno 506 GPU.
On the camera front, the second generation Mi Max packs the Sony IMX 386 sensor and is capable of capturing 12-megapixel images aided by phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and a dual-tone LED flash. The front camera is also capable of pulling off 5-megapixel selfies.
The phone is available in a black colour unibody design with 64 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM. The storage is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone also runs the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Xiaomi's MIUI atop.
