The Xiaomi Mi 5 has seen plenty of leaks and rumours as of today. As the 24 February launch date nears we did get some more details from both the president of the company Lin Bin and its Global VP, Hugo Barra regarding the stunning camera inside the smartphone as well. But today’s leak beats them all, in fact it literally reveals all. The Xiaomi Mi 5 has nothing to hide and it’s only about a week away from being launched.
The massive leak which was reported by TechNews comes from a user on a Chinese forum who seems to have gotten his hands on a presentation (PPT) about the Mi 5 smartphone that was meant for use at the launch event.
Considering that this is the actual PPT, plenty of hardware details have been revealed, along with details on the camera and related features.

According to the leaked PPT, Xiaomi fans will be treated to a 5.2 inch Full HD display on the front and a mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset hiding beneath. Accompanying the CPU will be an Adreno 530 GPU and 3GB of RAM, along with 32GB of internal storage. If you were wondering, yes, there is a second variant with the same internals but with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage mentioned as well.

Coming to the camera, we finally have a number and it’s a staggering 26 MegaPixels. Take a moment to let that sink in. The rear camera will pack in Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and sport a bright, f/1.6 aperture along with a Dual LED flash. Details about the front facing camera remain unknown for now.
Coming to the connectivity options, owners will be treated to a Type-C USB (USB 3.0) port at the bottom that will also charge the battery at Quick Charge 3.0 speeds (80% charge in 34 minutes). The device will also pack in NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ad (802.11ad has a theoretical throughput of 7Gbps), USB 3.0, Bluetooth and GPS. Details about the battery were not available in the leaked PPT.
Earlier rumours however point to an 8MP front-facing camera and a 3600mAh non-removable battery.

Also expected to be launched is a bigger Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus which is rumoured to pack in a 5.7-inch QuadHD display and 4GB of RAM as standard. The rest of the hardware details are said to remain identical to the standard Mi 5 model. The smartphone is expected to be priced at 2500 Yuan that converts to Rs 26,281.
If the leaked slides are to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is all set to really shake things up.
