Xiaomi Mi 5c to be launched on 6 December in China: Report

Just a few days after the leaked poster of the Mi 5c, some more details of the Xiaomi device surface online. Live images of the device are out, but interestingly even a possible launch date is out. Moreover, we have two speculated launch dates, and not just one. An AndroidPure report claims that the Mi 5c is likely to be launched on 6 December at an event in China. [caption id=“attachment_350337” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] Image: AndroidPure Image: AndroidPure[/caption] This is contrary to the previous report that claimed the device will be launched on 12 December . Now, we also have two price tags. The new rumoured price is around CNY 1,000 (via leakster KJuma ) that is roughly Rs 10,000. This makes the price almost half of the Mi 5 or the Mi 5s. A previous report hinted at a price tag of CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs 14,900). As the company has been tight lipped about a possible launch date, we can take it with a pinch of salt. Moreover, so far, a CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada seemed like the best bet as the company has booked a booth and promised to showcase an “ innovative product ". The leaked images indicate that the device is powered by a 8-core Helio P20 processor, supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard memory. The processor is clocked at 2.2GHz and the phone is expected to run Android 6.0 with MIUI8 on top. However, Toutiao reports that the device will have an eight-core A53 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. However, the new report points out at two variants – 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch., along with a 2.5D display. Some other rumoured specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 3GB of RAM, 12MP rear snapper, 8MP front-facing camera and 64GB of internal storage. It is likely to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 operating system.
