At the MWC, Xiaomi had unveiled the Mi5 and Mi5 Pro, and the company is all set to bring the new flagship to the Indian market, just ahead of its fifth anniversary. The company has planned its India launch on March 31. According to the invite the company sent us, the event will be held in Delhi and reads ‘Everything you imagined, and more’. We aren’t sure if the company will launch all variants here, or if it also plans to put on display the Mi Pad, that is competing with the iPad Air.
The Mi5 is priced at RMB 1999 (approximately Rs 20,000) for 32GB variant, RMB 2299 (approximately Rs 23,000) and the Mi5 Pro for RMB 2699 (approximately Rs 27,000). The Mi5 Pro comes with a 3D ceramic cover and 128GB storage with 4GB RAM whereas the Mi5 comes with a 3D glass cover and 3GB RAM with 64GB storage. Everything else is the same in both devices. The Xiaomi Mi5 borrows a lot of elements from its Mi Note series phones. It sports a 5.15-inch full HD display and both phones house Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset which has a customised quad core Kryo processors clocked at 2.2GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU.
