The Mi 4 sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 441 ppi resolution, based on OGS technology.  The screen is said to be scratch and shatter resistant. The smartphone is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB RAM.

On the camera front, the handset gets a 13MP rear snapper with LED Flash, Sony IMX214 BSI sensor and supports 4K video recording. It also has a whooping 8MP front-facing camera with Sony Exmor R sensor for selfies and video-conferencing. The device will be made available in 16GB storage space.

The Mi 4 comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed, with a layer of the MIUI 6 skin. The MIUI 6 focuses on features like colour, motion, customisation, security and content, says the company. Compared to the previous iteration, it comes with small subtle differences. Icons come with motion graphics built into them. The notifications section has been divided into important and unimportant sections.

In terms of connectivity, the phone has 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth and GPS. It has a 3,080 mAh battery. The device measures 139.2 x 68.5 x 8.9mm and weighs 149 grams. There’s no LTE support for this variant, so far.

According to Manu Kumar Jain, the head of Xiaomi in India, there will be around 25,000 to 30,000 Xiaomi Mi 4 on sale on February 10th.
