Recently we saw the first leaks of the Xiaomi Max in the form of a massive display panel (screen) from that was captured at an assembly plant. Today, GizmoChina has got its hands on the first render of the gigantic smartphone and oddly, it has a lot of similarities with the smartphone maker’s Mi 5 flagship handset. While leaked glass front panel of the smartphone looked pretty big, the smartphone in the render certainly looks a lot bigger and makes one wonder how heavy this phablet would be. In terms of design, it is identical to the recently launched Mi 5 smartphone and the Mi Note before it. There’s a white bezel on the front with some thin bezel at the sides of the display. At the top we have the earpiece flanked by the ambient light, proximity sensor on one side and the front-facing camera on the other. At the back, we find the camera and dual tone LED flash sitting at the top left corner. The camera module sits flat with rest of the back that appears to have curved edge design similar to the Mi 5. Just that out here the back appears to sport a matte metal finish instead of the glass surface on the Mi 5. The display is rumoured to be a 6.4-inch panel that will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. The phablet is expected to be launched in May.
