Xiaomi launches Amazfit Bip smartwatch priced at $99 globally

**Xiaomi**  owned sub-brand Huami has globally launched a new smartwatch called the Amazfit Bip. The smartwatch comes with a 45 days of battery life and is priced at $99 globally. It weighs 31 grams (which includes the weight of the soft rubber strap) and is currently (unofficially) available for Rs 7,990 at  Amazon India. It is powered by a 190 mAh Lithium Polymer battery that keeps the watch running for 22 hours on a single charge when in GPS and running mode. It also features Bluetooth v4.0 and can be connected to a Wi-Fi network. The company has included a PPG heart rate sensor, acceleration sensor, geomagnetic sensor and an air pressure sensor inside the smartwatch. The sensors on the watch helps in tracking GPS, outdoor/indoor run, walking, sleeping even the heart rate. It also shows call reminders and notifications from the connected smartphone. The Amazfit smartwatch is compatible with Android 4.4 and iOS 8 and above. The Mi Fit companion app can be connected to the smartwatch to sync the data and see insights on the app. The smartwatch comes in four colour options Onyx Black, White Cloud, Kodak Green and Cinnabar Red. The contents of the box include the Amazfit Bip Smartwatch, USB cable charging dock and a user manual. Meanwhile, Xiaomi is ready to launch its first device of the year in India. The company **sent out invites** for the launch event which is set to take place on 14 February. While the invite does not mention which device will be launched, it does indicate the number ‘5’ which is why we guess it could the Redmi 5.
