When previously a Xiaomi device codenamed Chiron had appeared on the Beijing Subway Database it turned out to be the Mi Mix 2 . While the Mix 2 was unveiled very recently a new device with the same codename Chiron has appeared  again on GFXBench.

Reuters.

The Chiron appears to have specifications which are quite similar to that of the Mi Mix 2 . The phone has an octa-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 2.4 GHz paired with an Adreno 540 GPU. The spec sheets also specify that the phone has an internal storage of 256 GB and a 6 GB RAM. The Mi Mix 2 also had similar variant. Both of them also have a NFC support as well and run on Android 7.1.1.

In terms of the camera the phone has an 12 MP camera on the back which can record videos at 4K resolution and a 5 MP camera on the front which is exactly same as the Mi Mix 2. However, this newly surfaced Chiron has a screen size of 5.6-inch instead of the 5.9-inch screen on the Mi Mix 2.

According to GizmoChina, this reduction in screen size meant that this Chiron may infact be the Mi Note 3 Plus or even the Mi 6 Plus.

The Mi Note 3 , launched alongside the Mi Mix 2, is a mid-range offering from Xiaomi and is basically the successor to the Mi Note 2 launched last year.
