Xiaomi confirms MIUI 7 launch on August 13 in China

Xiaomi confirms that the upcoming event is scheduled for August 13 where the company will unveil the new MIUI 7. The company is also expected to reveal its next flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 5 during the same event. According to MIUI’s Forum, “Xiaomi New Product Launch Event is coming on Aug.13, 2015! And it’s confirmed, MIUI 7 will be released!” The event will take place at China National Convention Center. ![143742td7l4z8m7p3od80w.jpg.thumb](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/143742td7l4z8m7p3od80w.jpg.thumb_.jpg) Xiaomi’s MIUI was launched over a year ago. MIUI offers a great set of customisations which make the Xiaomi device a class apart from its competitors. The rumoured Microsoft Windows 10-based Xiaomi Mi tablet may also make a debut on the same day. According to a report by GizmoChina, Pan Jiutang, a known Chinese analyst states that the device will not be running on the Android version as its predecessor but instead, it will reportedly run on the new Windows 10 platform. However, no information was provided whether it is the standard Windows 10 edition or the Windows 10 mobile edition that will run on the Mi Tablet. The purported Xiaomi Mi 5 may launch at this event as well. There are been numerous leaks for it too. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is said to feature a 5.2-inch display, Gorilla Glass 4 protection and 2.5D edges. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset, but there is no word on the RAM yet. The Mi 5 is expected to run Android 5.1-based user interface, 16MP rear snapper and a 13MP front-facing camera. A 3000mAh battery is likely to fuel the device.
