Xiaomi  managed to grab 26 percent of the smartphone market share in China last month. With such a result, Xiaomi now controls more market share than its next two rivals combined. Chinese-smartphone-market-share-April-2016 Honor and LeTV are in second and third place with a market share of 15.7 percent and 10.5 percent respectively. Apple is a distant fourth with a share of just 8.2 percent. Samsung, the global leader in smartphone sales, is well among the also-rans with a market share of just 3.2 percent. With 1 in 4 smartphones in China being from Xiaomi, it just goes to show how far Chinese smartphone makers have come. Looking at the figures, it’s easy to see that Korean giants like Samsung and the likes of Apple have a really long way to go as far as conquering China is concerned. The figures were revealed on Weibo by Sino, a Chinese research firm. Apple has seen a year-on-year decline of around 25 percent market share in China and we can expect that trend to continue for a while. Xiaomi is the first Chinese company to gain majority market share in its own country and might mark the first signs of another shift in worldwide smartphone dominance.
